Balotelli celebrates victory with his new teammates.

Watch: Mario Balotelli's strange but hilarious post-match interview after Nice debut

Published 1 Comments

Mario Balotelli made the perfect start to life in France by scoring twice on his Nice debut as his new side beat Marseille 3-2 in front of over 31,000 at the Allianz Riviera.

The ex-Liverpool man was goaded by Bafetimbi Gomis before taking a penalty but he coolly converted the spot-kick to give Nice the lead after seven minutes.

Gomis scored a penalty himself to give Marseille the lead, but Balotelli's headed second and Wylan Cyprien's long-range strike sealed a dramatic late win for the hosts.

Following his impressive performance, Balotelli answered questions from a Canal+ reporter in a post-match interview. However, as you can see from the video further down the page, it was in the strangest of locations.

The interviewer was trying to give Mario the man of the match award and get his reaction to the game - and Balotelli's responses were brilliant.

With the reporter speaking in a variety of languages before finally getting Balotelli's attention, the 26-year-old - lying on a massage table - quickly took the award off his hands.

Among many funny moments in the weird interview was when the reporter asked, "You are happy for your first match? Two goals." To which Balotelli replied, "Huh?!"

The striker welcomed the congratulations for his display and suggested this is the "perfect" team for him to relaunch his career. Finally, in a combination of languages, Balotelli insisted that he is "very happy" in France but that the reporter needed to leave so that he could get a massage.
