Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has tweeted a photo of Kell Brook's x-ray following his fight with Gennady Golovkin on Saturday night.
The British boxer, who jumped up two divisions in order to fight Golovkin, was beaten in the fifth round after his trainer decided to throw in the towel following some vicious shots from the Kazakhstani champion.
Despite starting the fight well and landing several clean punches, Brook was picked apart by Golovkin in the next few rounds, and after some big hits were landed by the 'middleweight king', it was apparent that the fight was coming to it's conclusion.

It was revealed after the fight that Brook had a broken eye socket, and will undergo surgery in Sheffield later today (Monday).

In his post-match interview, the Brit admitted at times he was seeing four Golovkin's and had no idea which one to try and hit, which ultimately lead to his corner deciding to throw the towel.
Despite the corner getting a negative response for doing so, Brook backed his trainer's decision and admitted that it was the correct call at the time.
Not only did Brook back his corner's decision to throw in the towel, but Golovkin himself also stated it was the right decision. After the match, the Kazakhstan boxer revealed his opponent could barely move or breathe in the fifth round.
It was the first time Brook had tasted defeat in his professional career, which means his record is now 36-1, whilst Golovkin remains undefeated with 36 wins, which includes 33 knockouts.
