CM Punk finally made his UFC debut on Saturday night, and although it didn't even last one round, the former WWE star has won the respect of thousands for stepping foot inside the octagon in the first place.
Punk was made to submit by Mickey Gall after he was taken down right from the get-go, and after he was put into a rear-naked choke, he had no choice but to tap out.
After the fight, Punk was clearly devastated with his debut, tearing up during his post-match press conference, and giving an emotional speech just moments after the fight.

However, something Punk will be happy about, is the fact he's won the respect of plenty, especially with people inside the UFC, who were questioning his involvement with the company in the first place.
One man who is considered the poster boy of UFC has since had his say on Punk's UFC debut, and he's admitted that he has a new-found respect for the former wrestler.
Yes, Conor McGregor was asked by TMZ Sports what he thought about the debut, and although he admitted that the former WWE Champion got his butt whooped, he also revealed his new-found respect for the man.

McGregor has been very critical about wrestlers in the WWE in recent months, claiming he'd slap their heads off instantly if he got the chance.
He also called them a bunch of 'f****** p******', which got a reaction from several current WWE superstars, including Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, and Rusev.
As of yet, it's not known what the future holds for Punk, but after the fight, he was adamant that he wants to do it all over again, insisting it was the second best night of his life, only behind the day he got married.
