Former WWE World Champion Alberto Del Rio was suspended by WWE for 30 days last month after it was announced that he had violated their Wellness Policy.
Eva Marie and Paige were both suspended for the same amount of time on August 17, with Eva and Del Rio both claiming that there was a less sinister reason for their violations.
The Mexican superstar made the decision to walk away from WWE late last week which means that he can now talk freely about his suspension, and he has finally revealed why it came to light.

WWE's wellness policy became part of all WWE contracts back in 2006, after the death of Eddie Guerrero, when it was shockingly revealed that testing would have shown that the Mexican superstar shouldn't have been cleared to wrestle.
All WWE superstars are now forced to adhere to these rules, and although Del Rio thinks they are slightly harsh he did reveal that his suspension was once of the deciding factors in his departure.
"It was that and along with many more things that made me not want to be there. But there are rules. Their wellness program is one of their rules. I can't call it absurd because when you work for them, you sign a contract. You know that you are subject to their terms. I don't think it's fair because there is a big difference in people using medication to obtain better... (he wants to say performance enhancing) physical performance.
"But when it is like in my case, a testosterone replacement, where I am a 40-year-old man and it is a medical matter that I have proof of from my doctors. I don't think it is something fair. But I come back to the same thing. It's their wellness policy and you have to abide to it. So yeah that was part of it, but not all of it. There were many reasons. But it did help me to make the decision to say, 'Goodbye, see you later. I don't want to be in this company."

ALBERTO EL PATRON
Del Rio only returned to WWE last year as John Cena's surprise challenger and won the United States Championship the night of his return, but he hasn't been happy in the company for a long time and now even though he still has many opportunities back in Mexico, he has shockingly made the decision to open up his own restaurant in Texas.
"On the 28th I'll be opening a restaurant, La Chilanguita, in the US, in San Antonio. With one of my associates, I hope it goes well. We will have some celebrities there. I'm in another stage of my life. That's why I was able to say goodbye to WWE. I was the one that told them I didn't want to be there anymore. They were generous and facilitated my release, to do it in the best way possible."
