Twitter reacts to Vince McMahon requiring surgery after injury in training

WWE have released a statement confirming that Vince McMahon has suffered an injury whilst training and will require surgery.

The WWE chairman is still very active in his training, and still works out on a regular basis despite now being 71-years-old, and although he's requiring surgery, he will be back at WWE Headquarters as soon as Wednesday this week.

WWE made the announcement late last night on their official website, where they confirmed that the chairman sustained the injury and that he will be undergoing surgery.

The statement read: "WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon sustained an injury while training, requiring surgery, WWE.com has learned.

"The Chairman will be back in the office at WWE Headquarters on Wednesday, as usual."

Vince McMahon still plays a big part in the WWE and is still very hands on behind the curtain, despite the company having the likes of Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, and Shane McMahon all active.

The chairman was last seen on TV a week before the official WWE Draft, which is when he announced that Shane will be running SmackDown LIVE as the commissioner, and that Stephanie will be in charge of Raw.

As of writing this article, there has been no update regarding the details of the injury, but as mentioned in the statement, he is expected to return to WWE Headquarters later in the week.
