Shinsuke Nakamura is currently the leading name in the WWE's developmental brand, NXT.
The Japanese grappler is the current NXT champion after defeating Samoa Joe at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II last month, and it seems only a matter of time before the 36-year-old makes his way onto the main roster.
The King of the Strong Style is a bona fide legend in Japan and among hardcore wrestling fans. There is no doubt that a plethora of dream matchups await him when he finally departs NXT.

So what about taking on Brock Lesnar, the Beast Incarnate himself? Nakamura recently spoke with Scott Fishman for Channel Guide Magazine and suggested he would like to get in the ring with the former UFC heavyweight champion.
“If I get a chance, I would be up for that. My body would need to be ready because he is tough. Ouch,” Nakamura said.
Nakamura has actually faced Lesnar before, challenging him for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship on January 4, 2006, at Toukon Shidou Chapter 1.
Although he was on home soil, he would lose on that occasion as Lesnar was making the most of his prestige in Japan following his acrimonious departure from the WWE nearly two years prior.
It's very difficult to think of opponents for Lesnar. How many men will honestly carry a legitimate threat to The Beast?
Roman Reigns is probably the only superstar with the build and athletic ability to make a believable foe for Lesnar. Anybody else on the roster is likely to be fed to Pau Heyman's client like so many have been before them.
Hopefully, one way or another, that won't be the case for Nakamura.
