Goldberg rumored to return at Clash of Champions

Published 8 Comments

Goldberg will be the pre-order bonus for the upcoming WWE 2K17 video game, which will be released next month.

Similar to Sting and the Ultimate Warrior - who have been pre-order bonuses on previous games - the former WCW star is expected to make a return to the WWE and possibly compete in the ring around the time which the video game is released in stores.

Now, a rumor has been circulating as to when the date for Goldberg's return to the company will be, according to NoDQ. The report states he could make his return at Clash of Champions on September 25 at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The report says: "Goldberg is currently scheduled to appear on a live Eric Bischoff podcast on the same day and in the same town that Clash of Champions will be held between the hours of 11am to 3pm. Goldberg mentioned in a video that the podcast appearance is just hours before Clash of the Champions."

It hasn't been stated if Goldberg will just make an appearance or compete in a surprise match, but the former is most likely if he has agreed to a return to the WWE. It's also worth noting if he returns at Clash of Champions, he could be joining the Raw roster, as the upcoming pay-per-view is a Raw show.

More than likely if he does return, Goldberg will be given a match at next year's WrestleMania. Several opponents have been linked with the former WCW star for the event including Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, as well as Sting.
