Inside the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland at UFC 203, CM Punk lost in his debut fight against Mickey Gall, but despite the defeat, the 37-year-old gave some words of encouragement after their fight to the 24-year-old.
The build-up to the fight was centered around Punk because this was his first fight since transitioning to the sport from the WWE, which made Gall feel like he didn't belong on the fight poster alongside the former wrestler, or even on the main event card of the pay-per-view.
In a video released by the UFC on their YouTube - which you can watch further down in this article - it shows the moments after the fight had concluded, where Chicago-native told the youngster from New Jersey that he definitely belonged and that he should never lose faith in himself.

Punk said to Gall: "Listen to me. Don't ever say you don't belong, OK? You always belong. You've got to believe in yourself.
"You're obviously a better man than I am, OK? Don't ever short yourself. Everybody else wants to short you. You know, I believed in myself. You've got to believe in yourself as much as I believed in me."
Although Punk's future in UFC looks bleak following the loss, he has promised he will fight again, but whether or not that will be under the UFC promotion is a different story. As for Gall, the future is bright for him so long as he believes in himself.
One day, we may have to refer to Punk as the guy that fought Mickey Gall.
