John Cena's WWE career could be winding down.

WWE pick five superstars they want John Cena to face

Published 2 Comments

If you're John Cena, you've probably wrestled the majority of the locker room by now.

It seems a long time ago when the fresh faced Cena was making his debut on SmackDown, confronting Kurt Angle and dishing out some ruthless aggression.

Fast forward over a decade and Cena is still the poster boy of WWE and still the face that runs the place, unless you ask AJ Styles, the newly crowned WWE World Champion.

With his TV schedule building up, and his eagerness to continue in films, Cena's schedule with WWE is becoming less and less busy, which has seen him take plenty of time off from the squared circle.

With his wrestling career seemingly winding down and coming to an end, there are still some opponents that the WWE Universe, and the WWE itself, want to see Cena compete against.

In a video posted on their official YouTube account, which has just under 13,000,000 subscribers, WWE looked into five superstars they'd love to see go one-on-one with the face that runs the place.

The first one they mentioned was former NXT Champion Samoa Joe. The man who made his name in TNA has been making a new name for himself with WWE in their developmental programme and is expected to earn a call up to the main roster sooner rather than later.

Joe is a big name in the wrestling industry and just like when Cena went up against AJ Styles, there would be plenty of interest in that match.

You can watch the video they posted below.

Two more NXT stars were then brought up with Shinsuke Nakamura and Finn Balor both mentioned. One is the NXT Champion and one just got promoted to the main roster, won the Universal Championship, but was then sidelined for several months due to a shoulder injury.

Then came two legends of the WWE.

Shane McMahon and The Undertaker. Both men were in the same ring earlier this year at WrestleMania, but WWE clearly want to see both of them share the squared circle with John Cena before he calls it a day on his illustrious career.
