One of the most intriguing storylines taking place on SmackDown Live right now involves the current Intercontinental Champion The Miz, and his feud with General Manager Daniel Bryan, which seems to be taking priority over his rivalry with Dolph Ziggler.
The Miz is rumoured to be defending his championship at No Mercy against Ziggler, and we may even see a Steel Cage stipulation put in place to keep Maryse out of the equation.
Despite all of this going on, fans are waiting to see how his story with Bryan culminates. The contract negotiations were well-documented this past week, with both of them confirming that they had finally met to discuss terms.

Obviously, it’s all kayfabe, and this isn’t regarding actual performing contract, but WWE.com have confirmed that negotiations have broken down.
Numerous Tweets have been sent out regarding the failed negotiations, with The Miz explaining he knows how much he is worth, while Bryan said The Miz is delusional and doesn’t value him higher than the other champions on SmackDown Live.
It’s clear that these negotiations are part of a bigger storyline the WWE have planned, and you can’t argue that something so simple has helped elevate The Miz as the second biggest heel on SmackDown, behind AJ Styles and easily overtaking Bray Wyatt.
The interesting thing now is that we have to keep a close eye on the rumours that Cesaro could be traded to SmackDown when his best of seven series with Sheamus concludes.
If that happens, then it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see the championship change hands, and The Miz takes his talents to Monday nights instead.
For SmackDown’s sake, keeping The Miz should be a priority as he adds so much value to the title and the brand itself, and it’ll only benefit Raw further, especially with the Cruiserweight's arriving on Monday night.
