Given how hectic being a WWE superstar is, being fired must come as a huge shock to the system, no matter who you are.
There is no denying that going from working or training near enough every day of the year to being let go from the busy world of WWE must take a lot of getting used to.
This is perhaps none more so than when you have just returned from a successful tour, which is one of the biggest reasons why Bull Dempsey was so shocked at being fired earlier this year.

As Wrestling Inc has reported, the 28-year-old spoke on the latest episode of The Ross Report about how unexpected his dismissal from NXT was.
The now Ring Of Honor star explained: "I actually thought I was going in to get a raise, so that was a big turnaround. We had just been off of a UK tour that we did and I had gotten some really good reactions over there."
He continued: "...and for whatever reason, the decision was made and no ill will towards them and it was obviously a business thing."
Whilst the Bull Fit pioneer's firing was unmistakably a shock, the idea of those in charge of WWE letting go whoever they want, whenever they want is less surprising.
Both the WWE and NXT rosters are full of exciting talent but it should not be forgotten that the company is always recruiting new wrestlers and letting others go as a result.
With this in mind however, Dempsey as he mentioned had just been part of a hugely successful UK tour so the timing of his dismissal would have certainly been unexpected.
Ultimately though it is WWE who have the final decision about particular superstars and story lines and in turn, what matters most as always; what is best for business.
