Another competition debut and another goal for Marcus Rashford.

The Manchester United youngster netted on his maiden League Cup appearance against Northampton Town this evening, capitalising on a hilarious piece of goalkeeping by Adam Smith.

Rashford, on as a 55th-minute substitute, was rewarded for chasing a lost cause when Smith bottled a 50/50 challenge with the England international, leaving the United starlet with a simple finish. (Scroll down to watch the video).

Rashford blasted the ball into the back of the net from a yard out - why not, eh? - as he celebrated his third goal of the campaign.

United secured a 3-1 victory over their League One opponents, Michael Carrick and Ander Herrera scored the visitors’ other goals, but Rashford’s goal was easily the funniest moment of the evening.

Rashford, who also scored in the 3-1 defeat to Watford at the weekend, has now put himself in the frame for a start against Premier League champions Leicester City this weekend.
