It's fair to say that Paul Pogba's decision to return to Manchester United this past summer took many by surprise.

The France international, who departed Old Trafford in favour of a move to Juventus on a free transfer back in 2012, quickly established himself as one of the leading young midfielders in Europe.

That's why, then, some of the world's best clubs attempted to secure his services during the last transfer window.

While the Spanish duo of Barcelona and Real Madrid were linked with the dynamic midfielder, it was United who completed the record-breaking deal.

Nani reacts

One man that certainly knows what Pogba is all about is Nani, who previously played with the Frenchman in Manchester.

Nani, who signed for La Liga outfit Valencia this past summer, has admitted that he was surprised Pogba opted to return to his former club.

The Portuguese ace has insisted, however, that he was happy United secured the deal and believes Pogba will prove his credentials for the club.

"I'm a bit surprised that Pogba went back," Nani told Omnisport, as per Goal. "A lot of clubs wanted him, there were rumours that other clubs would get him.

"When he went back I was happy. He knows the club well and will be a star at the club."

United vs Leicester

One thing is for sure, the Old Trafford faithful will be hoping to see the best of Pogba sooner rather than later.

After back-to-back Premier League defeats, Jose Mourinho's side can't afford to drop points when they play host to champions Leicester City on Saturday.

Pogba didn't feature against League One outfit Northampton on Wednesday, but there's every chance that he will return to the starting XI for the game against the Foxes.
