Cody Rhodes set to make the switch to TNA

Published 7 Comments

It came as a huge shock when it was announced back in May that Cody Rhodes had requested his release from WWE and even more of a shock that the company granted it.

Rhodes cited creative decisions as the main reason for his untimely departure and the fact that he had begged officials to end the Stardust gimmick for more than six months but his pleas had fallen on deaf ears.

Since his release Cody has been busy with the Independent Circuit and Ring of Honor, but now it seems that the former Intercontinental Champion could be heading to Thursday nights

TNA shared the following video on their Twitter page last night and it appears to suggest that Cody will be heading over to the promotion, less than four months after leaving WWE.

The video teases that 'All roads lead to tomorrow night' which could be a play on the name he was known as in WWE. As well as the fact that many of the WWE Universe have picked up on Rhodes' triforce tattoo that is shown under his wedding band on the video.

The above tweet was also re-tweeted by Arrow star Stephen Amell, whom Rhodes appeared alongside in a recent episode of the comic book-inspired show.

TNA recently announced that they had completed the signing of former WWE Ring announcer Eden Stiles who will now be known as Brandi Rhodes and she will be wrestling in TNA's Knockout's Division.

Brandi is the real life wife of Cody Rhodes and is thought to be one of the reasons the former Tag Team Champion has made the switch to TNA.

Brandi was a talented wrestler during her time in FCW but WWE offered her the job as a ring announcer instead of working as an in-ring performer. It will be interesting to see how she fits in with the TNA Knockout's roster, but it will also be worth noting what character her husband makes her TNA debut with given that he could be doing his own creative booking.
