Although Sting announced his retirement from professional wrestling during his Hall of Fame speech earlier this year, fans are still holding out for one more match from The Icon.
He isn’t getting any younger, and as each month passes, it looks less and less likely that he’ll be lacing up his boots and painting his face again to compete in the ring.
ONE MORE MATCH?
However, in a recent interview on the WWE Network’s “Legends with JBL”, Sting may have hinted at one more match if the opportunity comes by, and it’s no surprise who he wants to battle.

During the interview, transcribed by WrestlingInc, Sting hinted that he was holding off on neck surgery, just in case a dream match against The Undertaker somehow manages to take place.
He sustained the injury at WWE Night of Champions last year in a losing effort to Seth Rollins, but admits he is now feeling normal.

He said: “I am supposed to have surgery, but I’m having so many mixed messages out there. And the one thing I keep hearing is, ‘if you’re not having side effects, and you’re okay, then don’t do it.’”
If Sting does have the operation, that would probably suggest his wrestling career is officially over.
However, based on his comments it’s clear to all that he still has the itch to have one more match, and JBL did press him on the issue of not having faced The Undertaker, a match the world still wants to see.
He did highlight that his wrestling career didn’t end the way he would have wanted it to, but deep down he still wants the Deadman, calling their potential, or eventual match, ‘unfinished business.’
He continued: “Yeah, that’s unfinished business.
“I’ve always wanted to have that match. I know wrestling fans have always wanted to see it too.”
We shouldn’t expect the match to happen right now, with things continuing to change on a weekly basis, expecting this bout to take place could lead to disappointment.
Despite this, it’s great to see that Sting is still hopeful of competing again, perhaps we need to wait for developments on The Undertaker’s side to see whether this can actually happen.
