Chris Bosh fails medical examination - will not return for the Miami Heat

Published 1 Comments

Chris Bosh's return to action for the Miami Heat has been put on hold once again after he failed a physical examination.

The forward seemingly battled back from a second blood clot in two years and has not played since the 2016 All-Star break in Toronto, Canada.

But despite insisting he was ready to get back on the court ahead of the new campaign, the medical staff at the South Beach franchise have insisted against him making that step.

A team statement read: "The Miami Heat and Chris Bosh, in consultation with team doctors and other physicians, have been working together for many months with the mutual goal of having Chris return to the court as soon as possible.

"Chris has now taken his pre-season physical. The Miami Heat regret that it remains unable to clear Chris to return to basketball activities, and there is no timetable for his return."

The news comes as a big blow to the player who has seen his last two campaigns cut short by blood clots. He now faces the real possibility of being forced into an early retirement.

He will continue to fight in the hope of getting his career back on track, but the signs are not looking good.
