Usain Bolt is among the greatest Olympians to ever grace the earth.
A nine-time gold medal winner, the Jamaican sprinter holds the world records in the 100m and 200m sprints and has been untouchable for the past eight years.
The fact that he’s been able to dominate without failing a drugs test only adds to his legacy.
At the age of 30, it’s time for Bolt to start considering a life away from the track (unfortunate, we know). Given his charisma, it’s easy to see him entering the television world.
The Late Show with Usain Bolt has a certain ring to it.
But it seems a waste to see Bolt’s physical talents go to waste. He could probably switch to the long jump and still win gold medals.
Yet ‘Lightning Bolt’ hasn’t failed to hide his admiration for football over the years, jokingly asking Manchester United, his favourite team, to offer him a trial.
Well, we thought it was a joke. Turns out the fastest man alive is genuinely desperate to swap the track for the football pitch.
In a Facebook Live session recently, Bolt admitted that if offered the chance to play for his favourite team, he would drop his spikes immediately.
“Bro,” he said, “listen to me.”
“If I had the chance to play for Manchester United, I would go right now,” Bolt said. “I would retire and start playing football right now. That’s how much I really want to play for Manchester United. It’s almost like a dream.
“If I could get a chance, it would be crazy.”
What are you waiting for, Jose Mourinho? He couldn’t do much worse than Wayne Rooney at the moment.
Bolt's challenge to Mourinho
Bolt issued the United boss a challenge upon the Portuguese’s arrival at Old Trafford, claiming Old Trafford needs a championship after three years in the wilderness.
“Well Jose, It’s Usain Bolt, as you know,” he said.
“I’ll be watching you this season and I expect nothing but greatness from you as I will bring greatness.
“So I’m looking forward to it. We need a championship.”
Bolt is clearly passionate about Manchester United. Come on, Jose. Give the guy a shot!
