A lot has been made about the relationship of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook since the former decided to join the Golden State Warriors from the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Since joining the Dubs, Durant has continually insisted he and Westbrook are 'cool' despite the way he handled the departure from the franchise he had played with for nine seasons.
While KD jumped ship, the point guard signed an extension with the organisation and will be the out and out leader as they move into the new age without the 2014 Most Valuable Player.
At his press conference to speak about his new deal, Russ said he had not spoken to KD since the end of the previous campaign, and he recently insisted he still hasn't spoken to his former teammate despite the forward's statement that they were cool.
Many are expecting the Oklahoma City player to have an MVP-calibre campaign as he enters a season without Durant for the first time in his illustrious career. He was already a triple-double machine and the added reliance on him will only see the 27-year-old's numbers improve.
As for the new Golden State man, he has gone from being loved to hated around the league and will have to adapt to his new role as the pantomime villain.
