Ever since Bill Goldberg was used on WWE 2K17 adverts earlier this year, the WWE Universe has been speculating that a return to the WWE ring could be in his near future.
These reports intensified recently with it being reported that Goldberg was in the same state as Clash of Champions tonight and that he could potentially be making that long awaited WWE return.
Recent updates suggest that Goldberg was supposed to appear on a podcast with Eric Bishoff earlier today but the deal between the two fell through and the former WWE superstar will no longer be heading to Indianapolis, Indiana.

Even though a return for tonight's event was heavily speculated, it was merely circumstantial that the former United States Champion was in the same area on the same day as a WWE pay-per-view.
Recently Goldberg has stated that there is no longer bad blood between himself and WWE and that anything from his and WW's past is now 'water under the bridge.'
This led to speculation that Goldberg could be set to make a return to the company he left more than a decade ago. But all roads have been pointing towards a return to WWE at WrestleMania 33 next year where it seems likely that he will be facing Brock Lesnar.
GOLDBERG VS LESNAR
A Goldberg return would have been a long shot for even the most optimistic of WWE fans since Brock Lesnar is not scheduled to be a part of Clash of Champions tonight, and it was a match between the two heavyweights that many of the WWE Universe have been anticipating.
The advert for WWE2K17 shows a sign for Suplex City whilst Goldberg has also been taunting Brock Lesnar online by wiping his face with a Lesnar shirt.
It seems the build up for a match with these two is still set to come since it wouldn't make sense for WWE to drop so many hints and not follow through with his return unless an agreement couldn't be reached between both parties.
