Following the success of WWE Backlash, SmackDown LIVE will be hoping to put on yet another memorable Pay-Per-View when No Mercy rolls around next month.
The main event for the PPV is already in place as AJ Styles defends his WWE Championship against Dean Ambrose, the man he defeated for the title, and John Cena, the man he defeated at SummerSlam back in August.
After a segment on SmackDown LIVE, it was announced by Shane McMahon that Styles would defend his title against the duo he had just defeated, which didn't go down well with The Phenomenal One.

However, according to NoDQ, Styles will be walking into No Mercy as the WWE Champion, and will also be leaving as the WWE Champion.
They are reporting that Styles will successfully defend his title, despite the odds being stacked against him, and will continue his reign as the SmackDown LIVE champion.
Styles, who made his WWE debut just eight months ago, back at Royal Rumble, has risen dramatically through the ranks of the company, having feuds with big name stars, such as; Chris Jericho, Cena, Roman Reigns, and now Ambrose.
According to the same report, it's claimed that both Ambrose and Cena will be taking time off WWE in the aftermath of No Mercy, meaning having Styles retain the title is the only logical option.
Ambrose is expected to take time off TV in order to film WWE's latest movie, which means he'll be absent following the PPV, whilst Cena will also be off WWE TV in order to film his new series of American Grit, which is likely to keep him away until the end of the year.
With both Ambrose and Cena expected to be off WWE TV following No Mercy, it's only logical to have Styles retain and continue his reign as WWE Champion.
