Metta World Peace is back with the Los Angeles Lakers for another season and brought his unique personality to the open media day ahead of the new NBA season.
World Peace, who is, in fact, older than rookie head coach Luke Walton, was speaking to the media about a plethora of different subjects when the conversation fell into his relationship with the now-retired Kobe Bryant.
After calling time on his 20-year NBA career, Bryant has focused on his entrepreneurial business and World Peace said he stopped by to visit the Black Mamba at his new office earlier in the summer.
The 36-year-old said Kobe did not offer him any advice heading into the new campaign but said they spoke more about the former Lakers' soon-to-be-released books.
The 2010 champions admitted that he himself was also writing a book and was working on his own sci-fi erotica - in typical Metta fashion.
The former All-Star will have a big role to play alongside fellow veteran Luol Deng as they try to guide the young Lakers to an improved campaign and away from lottery contention.
While he will have to be a leader on the court, his personality can do wonders for the franchise off it as they head into the post-Kobe era.
