Mario Balotelli is having the time of his life at Nice.
The Italian striker made it five goals in four appearances for his new club in their Europa League game against Krasnodar.
It means he’s already scored more goals than he managed in his entire spell at Liverpool.
Balotelli joined Nice on a free after Jurgen Klopp made it blatantly clear that the 26-year-old had no role to play at Anfield.
But even a small part of Klopp must be wondering whether he should have given Balotelli a chance in the first team.
Krasnodar, and the majority of Ligue 1 teams for that matter, certainly do not present the same level of difficulty that Balotelli failed to perform against in England, but the fact that he’s scoring goals suggests he could one day return to the top level.

Balotelli's purple patch has left fans amazed on Twitter.
He'll be back
Balotelli’s agent, Mino Raiola, admitted recently that he expects his client to return to the Premier League one day following stints at Manchester City and Liverpool.
“Italy is unlivable for him because of the attention he gets,” Raiola, who also includes Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic among his clientele, told the Daily Mail. “If he proves he can become stable at Nice and score goals then imagine how attractive he would be to a Premier League manager next summer as a free agent.
“France needs him, like they needed Zlatan. He is good for the league but he will absolutely return to the Premier League.
“What would a real manager rather do? Gamble £100m on a striker or take Balotelli because no-one can tell me he is not a world class talent.”
There are no doubt plenty of English clubs watching Balotelli’s progress at Nice with interest.
