Ziggler has put his career on the line.

Rumour: Dolph Ziggler to lose at No Mercy and return with new gimmick

WWE and Dolph Ziggler. A relationship that has never really hit its peak for one reason or another.

The Showoff has often been a favourite with the WWE Universe, but he's always just fallen short of the top, with his last major push coming back when he cashed in on Alberto Del Rio.

Sadly for Ziggler, that push was over before it had even got started. He suffered a concussion weeks after winning the World Heavyweight Championship and was therefore pushed back down the pecking order.

It's heavily believed that Ziggler's concussion record has cost him a big-time role with WWE, but things have got even worse for the bleach-blonde superstar in recent months.

Yes, you can say he's been in a WWE Championship match and also an Intercontinental Championship match, but every time, he's fallen short and lost.

This has clearly brought him to the brink, and on the most recent episode of SmackDown LIVE, Ziggler went to the next level.

Something you can never question Ziggler for is his passion and his ability to cut a promo. Once again on SmackDown LIVE, his promo was probably the highlight of the show.

After Miz started questioning and mocking his career, Ziggler got pushed to the edge, and that lead to him making a huge match for No Mercy.

Title vs Career as Miz defends his IC title against Ziggler, who defends his career.

According to Cageside Seats' rumour page, Ziggler could lose once again at No Mercy, which would result in him leaving WWE. However, they have claimed that he could take time off before returning with a new gimmick.

Ziggler's current WWE contract expires sometime next year, and with the 36-year-old's future with the company uncertain, it's not yet known how they plan to book the Showoff.

With him leaving and returning with a new gimmick, that questions the whole legitimacy of putting his career on the line, something that The Miz stressed during SmackDown LIVE.

How would YOU book the No Mercy match between Dolph Ziggler and The Miz? Leave YOUR suggestions below!
