John Cena says CM Punk return isn't impossible.

John Cena refuses to rule out CM Punk return to WWE

John Cena has hinted that Vince McMahon would be happy to re-sign CM Punk if it was what's best for business.

The former WWE Champion walked out on the company back in December 2014 and quickly signed a deal with UFC, despite having no fighting experience.

Of course, his name and reputation got him the gig with UFC, something that fellow fighters were not happy with, but it then took nearly two years for Punk to step foot into the octagon.

Training and injuries halted Punk's debut, but after hard work and determination in training camps, he was finally set for his octagon debut at UFC 203.

Sadly for the former WWE star, it was over before you knew it.

Inside the first few minutes, Punk was on the mat and put in a rear-naked choke by Mickey Gall, which eventually lead to him tapping out.

Despite the poor show and the humiliating defeat, after the fight Punk was adamant that he'd return to the octagon when they'd allow it.

However, due to the nature of the defeat, many have suggested that Punk's UFC career will now officially be over, and that has sparked up speculation of a possible return to WWE.

Although Punk has consistently stated that World Wrestling Entertainment was in his past, we've seen it happen before with superstars returning even though it initially looked very unlikely.

One of Punk's biggest rivals in the WWE was Cena, with the two battling for championships repeatedly and fighting out to be the face that runs the place.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, Cena was asked whether or not McMahon would re-sign Punk, and the 15-time World Champion stated that if it's good for business, the chairman will get it done.

“If I know one thing about my boss Vince McMahon, he always does what’s good for business,” Cena stated. “If it’s good for business it will work out. The name in the question doesn’t matter about that, if it’s good for business, it’ll work out.”
