Koke is a vital cog in Atletico Madrid's midfield and has played a key part in the Rojiblancos' fine start to the season which has seen them surge to the top of La Liga on goal difference, ahead of local rivals Real Madrid.
The 24-year-old may only have one goal and two assists to his name so far this campaign, but the Spain international is already drawing comparisons with one of the country's all-time best midfielders.
Mario Suarez, on loan at Valencia from Watford, came up against his former Atletico teammate on Sunday, as Diego Simeone's men took all three points from the Mestalla in a 2-0 win.

But while both Suarez and Koke put their friendship aside on the pitch, the Valencia midfielder has admitted his admiration for Koke.
The Spanish duo spent five years together at the Vicente Calderon, helping Atletico win the league and reaching the 2014 Champions League final. And Suarez gave Koke the ultimate compliment ahead of the match, comparing the 24-year-old to former Barcelona star Xavi.

However, Suarez not only likened Koke to the Spain and Barcelona legend, but believes the Atletico midfielder is more complete than Xavi, who is now playing for Qatari club Al Sadd.
Koke the complete midfielder
As reported by Goal, Suarez said: "To me, when compared with Xavi - saving the different eras - Koke seems much more complete. He can play out wide, in the middle, as a playmaker."
"He has work rate, quality, flair and spectacular set pieces, and he is 24 years old.
"He has everything to be one of the best players in the world."
Koke has been highly-regarded in Spain for some time and Suarez's most recent comparison has revealed perhaps just how good the 24-year-old can become.
Atletico chasing La Liga crown
Considering Atletico's early-season form, the club's fans would undoubtedly enjoy seeing Koke perform anywhere close to the standards that Xavi set during his 17 years at the Camp Nou, if it can guide the Madrid outfit to a second La Liga crown in three seasons.
But the biggest worry for Atletico fans will be the prospect of Koke leaving in the future. The club have seen some of their biggest talents sold in recent years, which has hindered them in their quest to finish ahead of their two biggest rivals, Barcelona and Real Madrid, in recent seasons.
Koke, though, will not be concerning himself with interest from abroad, including the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City, as he looks to guide Atletico Madrid to their second La Liga title in recent seasons.
