After almost four months on the sidelines due to back and neck injuries, Paige has recently announced on social media that she is set to undergo neck surgery.
The former Divas Champion has been missing from WWE TV since June and recent speculation suggested that Paige was looking for a way out of the company. The British Diva has since silenced this speculation and looks set to stay with the company for the remainder of her contract.
That being said, her mother confirmed that Paige was still missing WWE tapings because she was struggling with a neck injury that could be corrected with surgery.

TIME ON THE SIDELINES
Paige updated the WWE Universe using her personal Twitter account:
She wrote: "Been quiet for a while. Time to get the neck fixed so I can come back and kick some ass. Thanks to Dr Uribe yesterday. One of the best doctors I’ve seen. Gave me two great surgery options. Makes you think about risks you have to take when it comes to this business, the things you put your body through to entertain the masses. Still wouldn’t change it for the world. Thanks to everyone for the continued support.”
The Inaugural NXT Women's Champion has been struggling with sclerosis for most of her life and it seems that this problem could have helped make her chances of injury much more likely.

NECK SURGERY OPTIONS
Paige isn't the only female wrestler to undergo neck surgery, Nikki Bella returned to in-ring competition a few weeks ago after successful neck surgery earlier this year.
Daniel Bryan also underwent neck surgery late last year and this contributed to his decision to stop performing in-ring for WWE after it was deemed that he could cause himself more problems if he continued to wrestle.
Neck injuries are a common problem in wrestling but Paige could undergo the surgery and return to the company in a matter of months if her body reacts the right way. And even though she is missing ring time, WWE have the right to add more time to her contract to make up for the time she has been on the sidelines.
