Cristiano Ronaldo comes across as an excellent father, so it’s no surprise that the Real Madrid superstar made sure he watched his son’s debut for Pozuelo Under-8s last Friday.
Cristiano Jr. made his maiden appearance at the Valley of Reeds Sports Complex, in front of a few proud parents, against Carrascal and capped his performance in the 7-a-side match with a goal.
According to AS, young Cristiano celebrated just like his father. However, it was his old man who predictably stole the limelight.
It’s probably a good 20 years since Ronaldo last played the role of ballboy - but that was his job he assigned himself during his son’s debut.
There was one fantastic moment, which was caught on camera, showing the three-time Ballon d’Or winner heading into the bushes to fetch a ball that had gone out of play.

Ronaldo chipped the ball up with a fancy piece of skill - obviously - before cheekily throwing it over the young goalkeeper’s head.
Ronaldo applauded every Pozuelo goal
He reportedly applauded every Pozuelo goal enthusiastically and took photos of his son at the full-time whistle.
It was a winning start for Cristiano Jr: Pozuelo ran out 4-3 winners.
Sunday was more frustrating for Ronaldo
However, the rest of the weekend would prove more frustrating for Ronaldo.
Real Madrid were expected to thrash Eibar at the Bernabeu but could only secure a point after a 1-1 draw.
Los Blancos subsequently slip to second in the La Liga table behind local rivals Atletico Madrid, although Barcelona stay fourth after a shock 4-3 defeat away to Celta Vigo.
