Zlatan Ibrahimovic was always going to be a huge hit amongst the Manchester United supporters, who were left craving excitement following three dismal seasons under the management of David Moyes and then Louis van Gaal.

And excitement is precisely what Zlatan brings in abundance.

The Swedish striker, who turned 35 on Monday, has established his status as a crowd favourite at Old Trafford over the past couple of months.

Merchandise bearing his name is the top seller in the club’s shop and outside the stadium on the swag stalls. He’s even more popular, it seems, than the club’s record signing, Paul Pogba.

So, as it’s the international break, let’s take a closer look at Zlatan’s best moments since joining the Red Devils in the summer.

Scoring an overhead kick on his debut v Galatasaray

Three minutes into his first ever appearance for Manchester United, against Galatasaray in a pre-season friendly, and Zlatan scored an overhead kick.

You couldn’t make it up.

This acrobatic flick against Bournemouth

Had Wayne Rooney scored, this would have been an early contender for Goal of the Season.

Zlatan beautifully played the ball into his teammate’s path with an exquisite acrobatic flick.

And his long-range goal in the same match

Zlatan also scored his first Premier League goal against the Cherries.

And what a goal it was, too.

Thumping header against Southampton

It feels like years since United had a forward in their ranks capable of scoring thumping headers.

Zlatan produced a header that former Red Cristiano Ronaldo would have been proud of against Southampton in August.

Winding up Paul Pogba in the post-match interview

Zlatan also scored a penalty against the Saints and could have wrapped up his hat-trick had debutant Paul Pogba picked him out with a pass instead of shooting.

In this hilarious post-match interview, Zlatan had a few words of advice for his young teammate.

This glorious touch against Hull City

Zlatan might be 35, but you’d know from some of the touches he’s able to pull off on the pitch.

This little touch against Hull City was pure filth.

His stunning finish against Manchester City

United didn’t win the match but Ibrahimovic still gave the United fans something to cheer with this superb finish.

The Swede made it look a lot easier than it actually was.

Pushing his lookalike in the head

Against Leicester City, Zlatan was greeted by a pitch invader who just so happened to be an impersonator.

He saw the funny side and gave his doppelgänger a cheeky push in the head before the bloke was taken into custody by police.
