Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hasn’t failed to hide the fact that he envisions himself joining Real Madrid one day.
The Gabon international revealed the promise his made to his grandfather to play for Los Blancos, recently telling L’Equipe: “My childhood dream was to play for Real Madrid.”
"I promised my grandfather, who was from Avila some 110 kilometers away from Madrid, that I would play there. I realise that it will not be easy, but is always in the back of my mind."

Aubameyang reiterated his dream in an interview with Onze, claiming there was slight interest on the Spanish club’s side to sign the striker this summer.
“I think there was interest, but it was more distant so I didn’t get too carried away,” the 27-year-old was quoted as saying by Goal.

“I was asked in interview: ‘What is the club of your dreams?’ I replied: ‘Real is the club of my heart and I made a promise to my grandfather to play there one day, I hope it will happen.’
“So it's just a target, I still have time. If they want me, they will come.”
Scoring 39 goals in one season doesn’t just attract interest from one club, however. Aubameyang admitted Paris Saint-Germain make contact with him pretty much every year, but he was disappointed by their activity in the recent transfer window.
“We’ll see,” said. “I found their summer transfer plans… let’s just say I expected that they would sign more players.
“They’re still a big team and I think they’ll still be Ligue 1 champions this season. But there are one or two teams who could annoy them.”
“At the end of my first season in the Bundesliga there was contact. And the next summer, too. In fact, almost every year. They took it poorly, it didn’t happen - that’s all I can say.
“I don’t especially want to return to France immediately. But it’s true that PSG have the ambition to win the Champions League, so they could be interesting for a player like me.”
Zlatan Ibrahimovic left a vacancy that has since been filled rather well by Edinson Cavani, but there’s no doubt PSG initially reserved their No. 9 shirt for Aubameyang.
Talks with Premier League giants
Spain, France… what’s missing? Oh yeah, England.
Aubameyang confirmed that his father held talks with Manchester City over a potential big-money move.
“It’s true, there was contact,” he continued. “My father held talks with the club, but in the end there was nothing concrete.”
Pep Guardiola was evidently planning on cheating when he thought of partnering Sergio Aguero with Aubameyang.
