Kirkingburg was also part of the UFC, having the role as a ring announcer, and the pair have had tributes flood in from the UFC community, as well as locally.
Kirkingburg's fiance Charlene Cristobal said his death has left their families in mourning, and stated how she is 'truly devastated' at the news.
"I am extremely heartbroken over the loss of the man who will always be the love of my life," Cristobal said.
"I thank everyone for their support, but ask for privacy for his family and me as we mourn our loss."
As well as Kirkingburg's fiance paying tribute, an obituary was published in a local Michigan paper.
It read: “Troy was a big dreamer who positively impacted all the lives of people he knew and loved, and he will be forever remembered by his family, friends and his beloved fiance."
Samman lost his girlfriend Hailey Bevis in a car accident in 2013, and had recently rose to prominence inside the octagon with a knockout win over Eddie Gordon in 2014 and a 3-2 record.
He was also an avid writer, with articles being published on UFC.com based around the sport he loved.
It's a tragic story of a UFC fighter and ring announcer who have passed away too soon into their respective professional careers.
