The vicious knockout loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 opened plenty of doors for other female bantamweight stars to stake their claim as the division’s best fighter.
We’ve seen Holm dethrone Rousey before dropping it to Miesha Tate, and then she also failed in her first defence when Amanda Nunes submitted her in the first round.
While this merry-go-round continues, one thing is for sure; Rousey is still the biggest name in the company, and the one super fight fans are eager to see is a clash with long-time rival, Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino.

This year, Cyborg has really turned the trash talk up a notch and has called out Rousey numerous times.
The current Invicta FC women’s featherweight champion has been vocal on social media after it was revealed that Rousey would be interested in a fight - although it didn't come directly from her - and Cyborg is adamant that the two meet on Super Bowl weekend.
Speaking on FS1’s Speak For Yourself, she made it clear that she wants Rousey, and vowed to break her face if the two ever met inside of the Octagon.
She said: “My last fight, I broke the nose of the girl in three places.
“Sure, if I fight her she’ll have to do surgery on her face after. I’m not kidding.”
She also revealed that Rousey is using Dana White or her mother to say Cyborg’s name, and referred to the urban myth ‘Candyman’ as she used an interesting tactic to goad Rousey into saying her name.
She added: “Ronda doesn’t say anything. She doesn’t even say my name.
"She used [UFC President] Dana White and her mother to talk to me because she knows if she says my name, she’ll have to fight me. She knows this."
In the interview, she revealed that earlier this week she had a fortune cookie sent to Rousey. On it, as you can see in the video, it reads: “Say my name 3 times like Candyman. CYBORG. CYBORG. CYBORG. U CAN’T RUN! CU SOON!”
Cyborg didn’t take too kindly at the comparisons between Rousey and Mike Tyson either.
Especially since Rousey is more of the submission artist while Cyborg is busy knocking opponents out, with her last 11 wins coming by stoppages and she hasn’t lost since her professional debut back in 2005.
Regarding the comparisons, she said “I watched her do shadow box, and the shadow won. Maybe that means when Mike Tyson lose his fight by KO, he never the same.
“Maybe it means that Ronda lost her last fight and she’s never the same. But not because she KO’s people. She never did this.”
It’s certainly an interesting approach to getting a response, and if she continues with the pace she’s going at, it won’t be too long before White stops in and confirms the big fight we are all waiting to see.
