The San Antonio Spurs may be without Tim Duncan, but the mantle has been passed to another player who has the capability to match the exploits of 'The Big Fundamental' in his own career.
Already a champion and Finals MVP, Kawhi Leonard is the face of San Antonio moving forward and, according to veteran Manu Ginobili, his style of leadership is similar to that of Duncan.
Both players are men of few words. Unlike your Kobe Bryant's of the world, Duncan and Leonard are keen to let their basketball do the talking and the lead by example style is exactly how Kawhi has gone about taking the Spurs into the future.
On Leonard, Ginobili said: "He doesn't need to say much, just keep working the way he does."
The two-time Defensive Player of the Year holds the hopes of a city on his back and, despite what has happened with the Golden State Warriors this summer, the organisation is still confident of making a splash in the Western Conference.
Losing Duncan is a blow, not for his efforts on the court but for his presence in the changing room, however, acquiring Pau Gasol has softened that blow. It's going to be an interesting season for the Spurs.
