After their impressive play so far throughout pre-season the Golden State Warriors have showed they may be able to make a quick start once again when the new NBA season gets underway.

One thing that is certainly already in mid-season form is the Warriors bench celebrations, which came out in practice over the weekend when Anderson Varejao rose up for a rare one-handed slam over JaVale McGee.

McGee has joined the Warriors squad for training camp, hoping to get one of the available roster spots with a Golden State team that is weaker at the center spot after trading Andrew Bogut during the offseason.

Plays like this will not help his cause, however he may have been surprised that it was even attempted by Varejao, who usually prefers to lay-up in most situations where he is close to the rim.

The shock was clearly not lost on his teammates either, with Steph Curry and Draymond Green leaping off the bench screaming after witnessing it, closely followed by new Warrior member Kevin Durant, providing one of the NBA’s best training camp highlights so far.

Varejao is another center, alongside McGee, fighting to keep his place in Steve Kerr’s squad for the season, and will certainly boost his chances if he can keep making plays like this when the regular season begins.

As for Curry, Green and Durant, it looks as if they are fully prepared for the season to begin, as you can be sure they will have a lot to celebrate during the year.
