For AJ Styles right now, the SmackDown LIVE roster is starting to look rather thin on the ground, especially after he's just beaten Dean Ambrose and John Cena.
The WWE Champion has just come off the back of a triple threat win at No Mercy against Ambrose and Cena, the number-one contenders for the belt, and it's now time to wonder what WWE have in mind for Styles going forward.
Styles, who only made his WWE debut back in January at the Royal Rumble, has beaten Cena three times in a row, including the big win at SummerSlam back in August.

As for Ambrose, Styles clearly has his number as well, defeating him twice over the last few weeks, initially beating him at WWE Backlash to win the championship in the first place.
Looking past Ambrose and Cena, SmackDown LIVE are lacking in the genuine title contenders area. Randy Orton is busy feuding with Bray Wyatt, whilst The Miz and Dolph Ziggler look to continue their heated feud for the Intercontinental Championship.
So with that in mind, it should come as no surprise that WWE plan on having Styles continue to feud with Ambrose, up until Cena makes his return to TV following his break.
According to NoDQ, Styles will continue to have a short-term feud with Ambrose going into Survivor Series, but once Cena returns from filming the second series of American Grit, WWE will begin to rebuild the Styles/Cena feud.
The plan as it stands, according to NoDQ, is to have Cena return at immediately challenge Styles for the championship, with a match possibly lined up for the TLC pay-per-view.
It's believed WWE will play off the fact Styles has beaten Cena three times in a row, something that is unheard of in the PG Era.
