The Orlando Magic will be dedicating their home opener to the 49 people who tragically lost their lives during the massacre at nightclub 'Pulse' in June.
Orlando opens their campaign at home to state rivals the Miami Heat and has planned a fantastic sequence of memorial services to remember those that were gunned down in cold blood.
The franchise released a statement saying they plan to raise a banner with the number 49 - which will include the name of every victim - into the rafters of the arena.
Ahead of the game, they will also play a video memorial to commemorate the victims, hold a moment's silence in remembrance and honour first responders to the incident as the 'Hometown Heroes' of the night.
The tragedy shook America to its core and left the city of Orlando and the state of Florida in a state of shock. Survivors, family members and employees of the gay nightclub will all be hosted at the game by the organisation.
As much as Orlando will be hoping to get off to a winning start, the night will be more about showing the city's unity in the face of adversity.
It really is a fantastic gesture by the club.
