Former Blackburn and England striker Chris Sutton has slammed Theo Walcott after another poor showing for England.
After disappointing for England in their 2-0 victory against Malta, the Arsenal winger put on another poor display for his country in Slovenia on Tuesday night, to the disgust of Chris Sutton.
In an angry outburst, Sutton said Walcott was "not creative or clever" as he responded to the Gunners man's lacklustre showing in the World Cup qualifier.
Walcott has made an impressive start to the season for his club side Arsenal, netting four times in all competitions as the Gunners have made a solid start to the campaign to sit third in the Premier League and top of their Champions League group.
Walcott, of course, didn't make the England squad that travelled to France for Euro 2016 after a poor 2015-16 season but got a recall based off of his solid start to the league campaign.
Premier League winning striker Sutton is not his biggest fan, however, and spelt out just why Walcott still has a long way to go to restore his reputation.
"People are saying he is a changed player. He is neither clever nor creative and he was completely ineffective once again for England," he wrote in the Daily Mail.
"The Arsenal man has no guile and didn't link up at all or put any decent crosses in all night. His pass appreciation is desperately poor and his defensive clearance just after half-time summed his night up.
"Everyone has credited Gareth Southgate for having the courage to drop Wayne Rooney, but he needs to learn fast and leave Walcott out.
"Andros Townsend was far more effective in his 28-minute cameo."
Walcott will need to rediscover his form when he returns to the Emirates after the international break.
