After a poor start to the season, Chelsea Football Club have refuted rumours that manager, Antonio Conte, is set to leave the club.
Former Italy manager, Conte, only joined Chelsea in the summer, however, after a number of gambling firms suspended betting on the Italian being the next Premier League manager to face the axe, speculation grew ripe that he was set to leave the London side.
Chelsea have had a disappointing start to their Premier League campaign thus far under Conte. The Blues began the season impressively with three consecutive victories, before a draw at Swansea was followed with two back to back defeats at the hands of Liverpool and Arsenal.
They currently sit seventh in the league table, after seven games played, five points behind leaders Manchester City.
Chelsea, have in the past, had a cut throat attitude with under-performing managers and many national newspapers claimed that Conte could be close to the exit, citing that owner Roman Abramovich had held emergency talks with club directors following defeat to Liverpool.
However, according to Sky Sports, Chelsea have come out and described any reports suggesting that Conte would be departing Stamford Bridge as nonsense.
Sources told the news organisation that no emergency meetings ever took place.
Reports had also emerged that Conte was unhappy in his role after not being allowed to bring in the players he wanted during the summer transfer window.
Chelsea are set to take on Premier League champions Leicester City his weekend.
Leicester have also had a poor start to the Premier League season, managing only eight points from their opening seven games and suffering heavy defeats to both Liverpool and Manchester United, putting further pressure on Antonio Conte to get a result on Saturday.
