Funny video emerges of Jamie Carragher being ‘arrested’ before Liverpool v Man Utd

Jamie Carragher is on duty for Sky Sports this evening as Liverpool host Manchester United in one of the biggest games of the season at Anfield.

However, he probably feared that he wouldn’t be able to join his Monday Night Football colleagues - including both Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs this evening - for a brief moment this afternoon.

Carragher was ‘helping out’ on a clothing stall outside Anfield when a police officer approached him.

The officer asked Carragher: “Have you got a traders’ license?”

The retired footballer, looking a little taken aback, replied: “No. I thought I didn’t need one!”

The Sky Sports pundit, who is working on tonight’s big clash at Anfield, then cheekily added: “[The clothes] fell off the back of a lorry!”

The police officer, in good humour, then added: “Ah, carry on then!”

Seconds later, the officer then stepped up the comedy routine by pretending to arrest the former Liverpool centre-back, much to the amusement of the Liverpool fans watching on.

Carragher then made his excuses and dash off to Anfield to begin work ahead of tonight’s match.
