If ever the expression 'age is but a number' applied to a professional footballer, it's Gigi Buffon.
The Juventus captain turns 39 in January but is still rated as one of the world's best goalkeepers and capable of pulling off some outstanding saves.
As cliche as it sounds, Buffon really is like a fine wine.

He was at it once again for the Old Lady in the Champions League on Tuesday night, this time against Lyon in Group H, where he made perhaps one of his greatest ever stops.
In the video below, Nabel Fekir turns and fires a shot at Buffon from 16-yards out, taking a deflection en route towards goal.
ROLLING BACK THE YEARS
Juve's shot-stopper had already dived to his left, at which point he reacts quickly and stretches out a strong right arm to parry the ball over the crossbar.
Thirty-eight years of age and still able to produce reflex saves like that - incredible.
There was plentiful reaction on Twitter to Buffon's stop, with even David de Gea hailing the Italian with a simple yet brilliant tweet.
Buffon has been at the centre of scrutiny in recent weeks following mistakes for Italy and Juventus, so if there was ever a way to silence his critics, that was it.
"At the end of the day, it's funny when they announce your funeral and then you go and prove them wrong," Buffon said, per ESPN. "This is what I live for, to make people eat their words."
"When that moment comes, I will accept it serenely. To keep going, you need to find stimuli and this comes especially from criticism. I never get tired of receiving awards."
