We’re all very familiar with Jose Mourinho’s serious demeanour.
The Portuguese boss rarely allows his light-hearted nature come out in press conferences these days and it seems he’s getting moodier as he gets older.
But for Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer show which will be shown on Friday, Mourinho went head-to-head with Josh Bishop in a joke contest.
However, there was a slight twist as both the comedian and the manager had to keep a straight face whilst reading and listening to terrible jokes.
The loser would be the first person to laugh.
Both Bishop and Mourinho barely raised a smile following jokes about cheetahs, cliffs, and Nando's but when the Special One read out a joke about sheep, he couldn’t contain himself.
“What do you call a sheep with no legs?"
Well, let Mourinho tell you once he’s stopped laughing.
A cloud. Of course.
Mourinho was in tears.
With Bishop being a huge Liverpool fan, it was the second battle between the Reds and Mourinho this week - and it a was a lot more entertaining that the Premier League match.
However, while Mourinho may have ‘won’ his battle at Anfield on Monday, it seems Bishop levelled up the scores for Liverpool during this charity skit.
While Bishop was eventually in hysterics after Mourinho cracked up, he probably wasn’t laughing at his comments following the goalless draw. Despite employing negative tactics, the United boss blamed Liverpool for the rather boring match 90 minutes.
"Two shots on target with 65 per cent of possession. You have to be critical of Liverpool. It is their problem, not our problem,” he said.
"I think it was a good performance. It was a difficult match for us and for them and I think we controlled the game tactically and emotionally and it is not easy to do both things here.”
Football aside, though, it’s nice to see this side of Mourinho - especially when he’s helping stand up to cancer.
