Football fans around the world will be treated to a show tonight. Hopefully.
Manchester City travel to Barcelona to take on the Spanish champions. And the subplots are endless.
Pep Guardiola returns to the superpower he helped to create. The Citizens will hope to prove that they can compete with Europe’s finest. Claudio Bravo goes head-to-head with the man who replaced him in Barcelona’s team, Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
And, of course, there are an abundance of stars on show. Lionel Messi, Kevin de Bruyne, Neymar, David Silva.
One encounter we can’t wait for, however, is Luis Suarez versus Sergio Aguero.
Suarez is arguably the best striker in the world, while Aguero joins him in the top five. If City are to have any chance of leaving the Camp Nou with a point, and keeping pace with Barca in Group C, they’re going to need Aguero to be on form.
GiveMeSport has a look at the statistics to see how big the margin between the Uruguayan and Aguero actually is. The stats, provided by Squawka, are taken from their form in their respective leagues and the Champions League since the 2014-15 season - Suarez’s first at Barcelona.
Goals per game
It’s quite clear who the top dog is. No wonder the Manchester Evening News believe it’s Suarez who he wants Aguero to emulate.
