It’s a reality in modern life. Being good at video games can now lead to a pretty lucrative career, whether that be on YouTube or on the eSports circuit.

Paris Saint-Germain have joined in the act by signing two high-profile FIFA stars.

On Thursday, the French giants unveiled two-time FIFA world champion August ‘Agge' Rosenmeier and Lucas 'Daxe' Cuillerier, who is considered the “future of FIFA”.

If you think it’s all a PR exercise, think again.

PSG have launched an official PSG eSports team and have signed former League of Legends star Bora Kim, known as “YellOwStaR”, to be their Head of eSports.

YellOwStaR’s task is to scout talent from France and beyond as PSG push forward with plans to build a Berlin-based eSports team.

"The main objective of 2017 will be to go to the LCS, the first League of Legends division," he said, per Goal.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi attended yesterday’s unveiling, also explaining why the French champions have taken a strong interest in eSports.

“We've decided to invest in eSports and to enter our teams in two of the sector's most iconic games," he said. "The decision forms part of the club's international development strategy.

"It also represents a new way for PSG to engage with its fans and to attract new ones in key development markets. eSports is a part of our future activity and our brand – PSG must win, there is no choice."

Agge and Daxe will make their PSG debuts at the end of October. Not away to Lille, but at Paris Games Week.
