Same story, different week and circumstances. New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has once again been fined by the NFL.
The 23-year-old scored the winning touchdown for the Giants last weekend in their win against the Baltimore Ravens. In celebration, he ran to the sidelines and proposed to the kicking net he has had an on-and-off relationship with for the past couple of weeks. He wasn't fined for this though as it happened off the field.
Instead, he was fined for his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty he occurred when he took off and threw his helmet to the floor during the celebration. The amount he has been fined for doing this is absolutely ridiculous.

According to the big lead, the wide receiver was fined $24,309 for the unsportsmanlike conduct. This is a crazy amount for the NFL to fine a player for taking his helmet off, as players are fined less for penalties that could seriously injure an opponent.
Of course, there is also the case that Beckham should have known better, especially if you add up how many times he has been fined this year so far already.

This is the fourth time the two-time Pro Bowler has been fined this year, as he has been ordered to pay $12,154 for a group celebration, $36,000 for unnecessary roughness after a hit on New Orleans Saints safety Kenny Vaccaro, and $24,309 for unsportsmanlike conduct against the Minnesota Vikings.
If you add all those up, it's almost $100,000 in fines in 2016 which is utterly ludicrous because you would have thought he had learned his lesson by now. Although the fines may be a bit excessive for what he has done, there has to be a point where he learns that doing those things aren't worth it.
