Ever since AJ Styles admitted he wanted to face Shawn Michaels at the Royal Rumble for the WWE Championship, the WWE Universe has been sent into a frenzy.
More havoc was caused by Styles after he posted a promo picture of the two of them on his official Twitter account, but it seems that all the excitement has been short lived.
Despite Styles and the whole WWE Universe wanting the match, there is one person who doesn't want it, and that person is Michaels himself.

According to Wrestling Observer, HBK is adamant he doesn't want to make a return to the squared circle in order to compete in a match, because he doesn't want to go back on his word following his bout with The Undertaker at WrestleMania.
That classic was meant to be Michaels' last, and that's how he wants it to remain, despite being constantly approached by WWE about making a return.
If The Heartbreak Kid wanted to return, he easily could. He still keeps himself in shape, and he's still physically able to go in a squared circle.
However, it is his decision not to return and that doesn't look like changing.
Although no one from WWE have officially approached Michaels with the opportunity to face Styles, the last time the veteran was approached, which was relatively recent, he turned them down.
It's not clear when Michaels was asked about a return, but according to Wrestling Observer, it wasn't too long ago, and his answer was a firm no.
HBK does make a habit of coming back to WWE TV, but he's still not keen on the idea of making a return to wrestling.
The latest speculation does have him appearing at Royal Rumble, but that's only because it's in his hometown, and not because he's likely to face AJ Styles.
Sadly, this is one dream match that WWE fans are likely to miss out on.
