Gaston Ramirez scored a contender for Premier League Goal of the Month for Middlesbrough against Bournemouth this afternoon.
The Uruguay international picked the ball up inside his own half and ran the length of the pitch before slotting past Artur Boric in the visitors’ goal.
Moments before his composed finished, though, Ramirez sold Andrew Surman with a beautiful drop of the shoulder. It was a goal of real class from a technically gifted footballer. (Scroll down this page to watch the video).
Ramirez very rarely scores - this was his first Premier League goal since December 2014, when he netted against Sunderland - but you have to wonder why when you see him produce spellbinding moments like this.
The quality is most definitely there; perhaps it’s just a case of confidence.
Ramirez’s goal v Bournemouth
A true stunner - and a definite contender for Goal of the Month.
