Now that Raw's Hell in a Cell pay-per-view is in the books, it is safe to say that history was made.
Charlotte and Sasha Banks not only became the first women to square off inside the Hell in a Cell structure, but they became the first women to ever main event a WWE pay-per-view as well.
And they did not disappoint. The ladies put on a physical spectacle to support an engaging narrative and even provided a shock finish, as Ric Flair's daughter dethroned Banks in her hometown for the Raw Women's title.

However, it appears as though the ladies wanted to make sure they put on a match that the fans would remember forever and take things to the next level
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, Charlotte and Banks wanted to go to the top of the Hell in a Cell structure at the PPV but WWE shot the idea down.
There is no denying that the fans go crazy when stars ascend to the top of the demonic structure, and the Boston crowd made plenty of noise when Charlotte and Banks began climbing before their bout had even begun.
However, it proved to be a false alarm as Charlotte would powerbomb Banks through the announce table.
Fans will remember Mick Foley being thrown off the Cell in 1998 by the Undertaker and, of course, Shane McMahon diving down and missing the Deadman at WrestleMania this year.
The women put on a fantastic match that will go down in history regardless and many would argue it didn't need a dangerous high spot like that.
Mind you, there will always be a section of daredevil fans that would have loved to have seen it. Ultimately, Vince McMahon made the right call for the competitors involved.
