Ric Flair has long been regarded as the yardstick in professional wrestling, long before the industry evolved into sports entertainment.
The Nature Boy is recognised by the WWE as a 16-time world champion and therefore, he has the most reigns of any superstar in the history of the business.
Flair is a legend in every sense of the word and is considered precious to the hardcore fans. Even now, any live WWE show you attend will be drowned in his catchphrase "Woooo!"

The fact that John Cena has 15 world title reigns and is breathing down Naitch's neck for the record typically divides opinion.
Does Cena deserve to match or break Flair's record? Superstars like Triple H (14) and Randy Orton (12) - who were both members of the Evolution stable alongside Flair - have come close to the record, but Flair's 16 reigns have almost been sacred.
However, stories continue to do the rounds suggesting that Cena is primed to at least tie Flair's record, possibly at WrestleMania 33 if a bout with the Undertaker doesn't come to fruition.
Appearing on Busted Open today with Doug Mortman and Dave LaGreca, Flair insists that would not bother him if that turned out to be the case, even though he believes he has more reigns than the standard-bearing 16.
"Sixteen's not the real number anyway. They just plain won't recognise two of them, so that's 18, and then there were three more. No, but, I think the world of John [Cena] and I would have no problem with that happening."
