This year’s Survivor Series is one to certainly excite the fans, not only are we seeing the return of the SmackDown vs. Raw tag team matches, but the main event will feature Brock Lesnar as he takes on a returning Goldberg.
That’s probably one of the last things fans would have thought they’d hear or see in 2016, but whether they like it or not, we’re getting the WrestleMania XX rematch in Toronto this month.
There’s been a lot of understandable concerns heading into the match, we all know how Lesnar works in the ring and throwing someone in the ring with him – who hasn’t competed in over a decade – probably isn’t the best of ideas.

Nobody really expects this match to be an all-time classic either.
Nevertheless, the WWE are adamant that this is going ahead as Goldberg seems to be one of the very few blips on Lesnar’s record, so it’s safe to assume The Beast Incarnate will continue his destructive run.
However, RingSideNews are reporting that there are more concerns within the organisation in regards to this match.
HIJACKING THE MAIN EVENT
On paper, they’re having Lesnar compete as the heel and Goldberg as the face that the fans are supposed to get behind and love.
But it came as no surprise that the Minnesota crowd were behind their hometown hero in Lesnar, when he returned a week after Goldberg made his triumphant comeback.
They’re claiming that there’s concern that it’ll be tough to pull off at Survivor Series, as Lesnar is now a resident of Canada, while Goldberg has never really had a huge fan base there either, so fans could cheer for The Beast instead.
The company is trying to get fans behind Goldberg by having Paul Heyman work the majority of promos in the hope that the crowd won’t hijack the main event.
They failed to do that in Minnesota though, and it didn’t take long for the ‘Goldberg sucks’ chants to echo throughout the arena.
It was out of the WWE’s control, as fans can chant for whoever they want, but it will be interesting to see who they side with at the event.
