Scholes: I would pick Giggsy
But in Scholes’ mind, there’s only one choice: his old Class of ’92 teammate, Ryan Giggs.
After being asked if he would pick himself, Scholes responded: “No, I would pick Giggsy.
“I think there’s probably 25 United players you could pick, but Giggsy is the one - he lit the place up on the big European nights, [against the likes of] Juventus, Barcelona. Sensational to play with.”
BT Sport host Jake Humphrey then asked the retired midfielder if Giggs is the best player he played either with or against during his illustrious career.
“Without a shadow of a doubt, yeah,” Scholes added. “Brilliant trainer, brilliant footballer - could do everything: score goals, make goals, defend, could tackle.
“He was the one special person on a big European night who could really get the place going.”
