The eagerly anticipated north London derby on Sunday was not one of the more memorable meetings between the two Premier League clubs - who will hope to challenge for the title this campaign.

Arsenal and Tottenham could only share the points, as a Kevin Wimmer own goal and Harry Kane penalty provided the only goals of the game.

In a match that produced very few moments of controversy, no one individual stole the show outright.

But while there wasn't a 'hero', as such, at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino hailed the performance of one player, who the Argentine believes played a key part in Spurs' battle to come from behind and earn a point.

Following the draw, Pochettino admitted: " [Mousa] Dembele is a genius."

And it was the Belgium international that won Spurs a second-half penalty, after being felled by Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny.

Key figure

Dembele has become a key figure for Tottenham, since his arrival at the club from Fullham in 2012. But while his impact can sometimes go under the radar, Pochettino has been a big admirer of the 29-year-old, who is a key player at the heart of Spurs' midfield.

While it is the likes of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane who are typically identified as vital members of Pochettino's team, Dembele has time and again proved to he can be the difference for Spurs.

Admiration

Although not a prominent figure in front of goal himself; Dembele's career so far at White Hart Lane has clearly not only earned the admiration of Pochettino, but the fans also.

But whether the Belgian can help to mastermind a campaign that can bring the Premier League trophy to the white side of north London remains to be seen.

And after last campaign's agonising late-season fall from grace, if there is one man Pochettino cannot replace, in a bid for Spurs to land the league title this campaign, it is Dembele.
